The HAWK System staff has a wide mix of classroom and field experiences that create a unique foundation for our training and performance development initiatives.

Dean Stewart, the founder of The HAWK System, draws his knowledge from a wide variety of contexts. He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Philosophy along with Black belts in several different disciplines. Dean has spent time in Japan, Russia, and parts of Europe learning about the physical and mental aspects of the Martial Arts. The HAWK System was created in 2002 to bring the philosophies and concepts to a wider audience.

Mike Campagna is the program developer and instructional designer for The HAWK System. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and Philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is working on his Masters of Education degree at North Carolina State University. Mike is a 15 year veteran of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and is currently a Captain assigned to the Criminal Investigation Bureau. Mike has been involved in training design and delivery for the past 13 years, serving as a Training Coordinator and Professional Development Team supervisor.
